Terms and Conditions

Plaudan Kids is a digital language learning app in which children hold spoken practice conversations with virtual animal characters in a foreign language. Access is provided through the browser. The contract is concluded per child profile as a subscription.

The conversations are generated by artificial intelligence. We continuously develop the service; the scope and design of individual features may change as long as the core of the service remains intact.

Orders are placed through the payment provider Stripe. The contract is concluded once the payment is confirmed and your access is activated. You will receive a confirmation by email.

All prices include VAT. Billing is handled by Stripe in the currency and billing period shown at checkout.

The subscription renews automatically for the chosen billing period until cancelled. We announce price changes by email at least one month before the next renewal date; until then you may cancel at any time effective at the end of the current period.

You can cancel the subscription at any time effective at the end of the current billing period, directly in your account. Cancellation applies per child profile. Access remains available until the end of the paid period.

Your access is activated immediately after purchase. By purchasing you expressly agree to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal expires once your access is activated.

For the duration of the subscription you receive a simple, non-transferable right to use Plaudan Kids for private purposes. Sharing access credentials with third parties outside your household, as well as automated or commercial use, is not permitted.

The contract is concluded by an adult. Children use the service under the supervision and responsibility of their legal guardians. Please keep your access credentials safe and inform us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Conversations in Plaudan Kids are generated by artificial intelligence in real time. Despite careful safeguards, individual replies may contain linguistic or factual errors. Plaudan Kids is a practice tool and does not replace language lessons; no specific learning outcome is owed.

We provide the service in line with the current state of technology. Short interruptions, for example for maintenance or due to failures of upstream providers, cannot be fully excluded for an online service.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as for damage to life, body, and health. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Mandatory statutory claims, in particular under consumer law and statutory warranty, remain unaffected.

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state of your habitual residence remain unaffected. Should individual provisions of these terms be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains effective.
